Glos Archery

Gloucestershire Archery Society was formed to support all archery clubs in Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, and Bristol.  We meet on a regular basis throughout the year and welcome your input and support. The aims and objects of the Society shall be the promotion and encouragement of the sport of Archery in its various forms, covered by the rules of shooting approved by the Grand National Archery Society (Archery GB). The Society is the governing body of archery in the County of Gloucestershire, the district of South Gloucestershire and the City and County of Bristol.

We hold regular meetings and all clubs are welcome to attend to discuss agenda items and to put forward suggestions to improve archery in the region.

Please contact the Society secretary if you would like to provide information for the website or would like to promote your club or submit your entry forms for inclusion in the web site tournament calendar.

Archery GB's selection shoot for the European Para-Archery Championships in Challans, France, is over. And the competition for the chance to represent Great Britain proved fierce. Congratulations to Phoebe on her selection to Team GB.

Lucy Mason

Archery GB Performance has selected the 18 young archers it will be sending out to represent Great Britain at the European Youth Cup in Heviz, Hungary, from 2-7 May. Congratulations to Lucy on her selection to Team GB.

Five of our archers with Olympic ambitions - Sean Evans, Patrick Huston, Alex Smith, Ashe Morgan and Naomi Folkard - are now on their way from Vegas to the Chula Vista Archery Centre in California.

Roger Crang of Deer Park Archers introducing the the event and ensuring all archers were aware of the safety precautions. Again judges Richard Jones and Adrian Gifkins tool control to deliver a very enjoyable day.

The tournament was again well supported by Deer Park Archers with only a few other clubs in attendance.  If your club has a junior section this is one of two county tournaments organised each year.

It was not surprising that Deer Park Archrs took 16 of the 22 titles with Cleve Archers taking 4 titles and Fast & Loose taking 1title. There was a positive result with a good number of juniors taking part for the first time.
