The second in the current series of Coaching Forums is a Longbow Workshop to be held on Thursday 22 January 2004 at 7.30pm at The Chantry, Thornbury. Hugh Soar will be running this workshop, which will include the following aspects of Long Bow Archery:-

1. The origin of the longbow
2. The development of specialist forms of the longbow
   
3. How the longbow works - profiles and sections (tension, compression,
   neutral axis), elastic moduli.
   
4. How it was and is made - self, backed and laminated bows
   
5. The string
   
6. The arrow, its profiles and their purposes
   
7. The spine comparator
   
8. Technique and improving the shot
   
9. Sighting - instinctive, POA, bow-sight or gap
   
10. Forms of longbow archery
